Faculty Position

The School of Film, Dance and Theatre in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts at Arizona State University invites applications for multiple part-time Faculty Associate positions for the academic year 2019-2020.

The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person or online courses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

The School of Film, Dance and Theatre at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, Clinical Assistant Professor of Stage Management for a nine-month, fixed term, renewable faculty position beginning fall 2020.The ideal candidate will seek to be a part of the ASU community that is identified "not by whom it excludes, but by whom it includes and how they succeed" as framed in our charter, and will have a record of advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in their work. Additionally, the ideal candidate will hold fluency with current modes of educating stage managers, design and production students via culturally responsive approaches; have notable experience working on a range of projects; and hold a strong level of professional engagement as a stage manager for theatre and/or dance at a national level. 

The School of Film, Dance and Theatre at Arizona State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible Assistant Professor of Film/Media Production beginning fall 2020. We seek a filmmaker with established professional credits as a director, writer, or producer for cinema, television, or new media. Our new colleague will teach courses in filmmaking practices, directing, and media production for our undergraduate degree programs, as well as connect their teaching and professional creative work with partners across the School of Film, Dance and Theatre, the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts, and the Arizona State University community.

The School of Film, Dance and Theatre at Arizona State University invites applications for the position of a full-time, tenure eligible, Assistant Professor of Acting, beginning fall 2020. We seek a teacher of acting who will work with students on: developing agency and authenticity about their body of work and careers; building a strong sense of self and self-care as well as compassion and understanding of others as resources for their craft and a whole person approach to making work; building inclusive practices in their own performance work and contributions to making work in multiple locations; cultivating rigor and excellence in their pursuit of authenticity and versatility; practicing as generous collaborators and visionary leaders in a variety of spaces and contexts. The ideal candidate will seek to be a part of the ASU community that is identified "not by whom it excludes, but by whom it includes and how they succeed" as framed in our charter and have a record of advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in their work.  Additionally, the ideal candidate will have fluency with current modes of performance training and culturally responsive acting pedagogies, as well as experience working on projects that resonate with culturally specific communities and voices and a strong level of engagement with contemporary theatre/performance on stage, screen and in digital media.
