Job description: 

The successful candidate(s) will teach in-person or online courses, prepare course materials, evaluate student work, and assist students. Faculty Associate positions are one semester, non-benefits-eligible, fixed-term appointments with no tenure implications, not to exceed .40 FTE. The number of courses is contingent upon needs, funding and sufficient enrollment. Salary is based upon qualifications and assigned teaching load. Individuals employed as Faculty Associates may not hold multiple, non-benefits eligible appointments at Arizona State University.

At the current time, we anticipate hiring new Faculty Associates to teach the following courses:

FMP    220    Film & Media Post-Production

FMP    225    Introduction to VFX

FMP    255    Media Authorship (online)

FMP    261    Introduction to Screenwriting

FMP    280    Introduction to Film and Media Production

FMP    300    Focus on Film – Film Production: Film & Media I

FMP    405    Various Film Topics such as Comedy Films, Sci-Fi Films, the Films of Alfred Hitchcock and more

For all film courses, at least 5 years’ professional experience

FMP 220 requires extensive knowledge of post-production workflow and is knowledgeable in Avid Media Composer

FMP 225 requires an expert knowledge in film production and post-production, including Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer and Adobe After Effects.

FMP 280 and 300: extensive knowledge of narrative pre-production, production and post-production methods and expertise in Final Cut X and/or Adobe Premiere

FMP 380 requires a BA, a thorough understanding of the ASU film program, film production crew roles and responsibilities, highly-efficient organizational and communication skills, and a major attention to detail.
