Experience the Space

Technical Specification:

The Dance Laboratory is one of the most innovative and well-outfitted dance rehearsal and performance spaces in the state. Excellent access to natural light, a full suspension grid, integrated lighting, projection and sound all contribute to an excellent experience for dancers and visitors alike. The Dance Laboratory hosts a number of dance performances annually, with a focus on interactive and environmental performance formats.

Seating

Seating in the studio can be arranged in any configuration to meet the needs of the performance – up to 200 seats on the floor and 100 seats in the two balcony areas.

Floor

5400 square feet of "sprung" hardwood flooring covered by a Marley surface, laid in a basket-weave pattern on a base supported by resilient cushions and air, providing give and spring necessary to prevent leg injury and to assist in dancers’ lifts and jumps. An experimental tung oil finish penetrates to seal the wood against moisture and drying while allowing dancers to work on an uncoated wood finish.

PARKING

Parking:

Parking is available at various locations around campus.  The many parking options will accommodate your individual costs and needs.  Visit the Arizona State University Parking and Transit Services for more information.
