Biography

William Kirkham is an award-winning lighting designer for theatre and live events and assistant professor of lighting design in the School of Film, Dance, and Theatre in the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. 

His regional credits include: Alliance Theatre, Arena Stage, ArtsWest Playhouse, Chicago Children’s Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Contemporary American Theater Festival, The House Theatre of Chicago, The Hypocrites, Lookingglass Theatre Company, Portland Center Stage, Sideshow Theatre, South Coast Repertory, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and Yale University.

His Arizona design credits include work with Childsplay, and Phoenix Theatre. 

An Arizona native, Kirkham attended Northern Arizona University before earning his M.F.A. in Stage Design from Northwestern University. He is a proud member of United Scenic Artists.
